- EVERYDAY
As an ecumenical church of Jesus followers – we value unity (JN 17.20-21) – even above specific “rightness” on non essential matters of doctrine.
While we love and honor the ministry, worship & community that happens here at Home Church, we are also committed to “Going into the world” (Mark 16.15) with the love and message of Jesus, from local grocery distribution, to supporting other churches and ministries, to planting churches in India.
While we absolutely recognize God as the source of our transformation, (PHP 1.6) – Jesus’ recurring call to “follow me” means we are called to intentionally partner with him in this miracle. Creating time and space for God to do in us, what we cannot do ourselves – make us more like Jesus. Much of this time & space is created as we follow Jesus as apprentices. Shaping our lives around being with him, becoming like him, doing the things he did. “Following Jesus” (Matt 4.19, Mark 1.17, Matt 9.9, Mark 2.4, Luke 5.27, Matt 8.19, Luke 9, Jn 21) means going where Jesus went, living like he lived, loving like he loved, and following his practices.
Doing the work of ministry with excellence “as unto” the Lord, through the gifts and power of His spirit.
Striving to meet people where they are, and help them move forward in life, in community, in faith, in understanding, in ministry, and especially in their apprenticeship to Jesus.
- As one part of the body of Christ – Home Church seeks to partner with other ministries and churches who share our values, to continue the work of Christ.
- We see great biblical & practical value in working alongside ministry partners who do what they are called & gifted to do with excellence, instead of duplicating, competing, or working outside our giftings.
- To ensure operational excellence, and effectiveness – we need to stay focused on doing everything and only what God is calling, gifting and empowering us to do.
- To that end, we frequently revisit our programming, budget, systems, operations, and strategic plan to ensure that they all lead to the identity and mission God has called us to.
